Woman at Work, November 2026

What’s Happening? Hallowe’en! This year I dressed my classroom a bit for the holiday. There is a toy basket the kids can pick from when they’re done with their work. This week I took out some of the toys that were there and put in things like plastic snakes and spiders. There’s a small bat finger puppet and a black unicorn puppet. They kids have enjoyed them, and that’s fun to see.

What I’m Working On. I’m continuing to revise The Mages Breed. After the one-week Fall Break, I’ve managed to get through eight chapters and about 160 pages. This is out of 480 pages, so I obviously can’t be too proud about it.

What’s Next? The Mages Breed is all I’m working on at present.

Where I’ll be. Fall Folk Festival is coming up in mid-November. It’s an annual event for me, and I’m looking forward to reading there again.

Fun and Games. In addition to Animal Crossing, I’m playing Planet Crafters, where I have to terraform a planet before I’m allowed to leave. I have trees, frogs, fish and animals now! It’s a slow-moving game, no easy power plays here. I’m enjoying it for that. My current read is Leah R. Cutter’s humorous fantasy, A Dragon’s Guide to Killing Gods.

Wishing you a calm November now that the election cacophony is almost over.

Have you read one of my books? Then it would be great for you to leave a review! Meanwhile, if you’d like to learn more about me and my work, check out my blog, Wyrmflight, or follow me on Bluesky.
